Clinical Psychologist - Part-Time

Clinical Psychologist

Join Braeburn House as a Clinical Psychologist and become a valued member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional, person-centred care.

About the Role

In this rewarding role, you will take the lead on the psychological assessment, formulation, treatment, and evaluation of a defined patient group, ensuring timely and effective interventions that support individual recovery goals.

Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute your psychological expertise to care planning, risk assessment, and decision-making processes, helping to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.

  • Deliver focused psychological interventions
  • Conduct specialist assessments using psychometric measures
  • Provide expert input at CPA reviews, offering guidance on:
    • Treatment approaches
    • Risk management
    • Ongoing care needs
  • Develop and deliver therapeutic group programmes
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
  • Contribute to the continued enhancement of services through evidence-based practice
  • Support the development of Assistant Psychologists through:
    • Supervision
    • Training
    • Professional guidance

You will actively participate in:

  • Clinical Governance
  • Quality improvement initiatives
  • Research and audit projects

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Essential:

    • BPS-recognised psychology degree
    • HCPC Registration
    • Experience of applying psychological knowledge to forensic or psychiatric settings
    • Experience of providing psychological interventions
    • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Ability to apply psychological knowledge to a rehabilitation setting
    • Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
    • Ability to adopt a systematic approach
    • Communication skills
    • Skills to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Organisational skills
  • Desirable:

    • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications
    • Approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
    • Experience of working with clients with cognitive deficits
    • Developing, facilitating, and evaluating group and individual evidence-based programmes
    • Knowledge of substance misuse and its impact on mental health
    • Presentational and group work skills

Location

Braeburn House is a purpose-built rehabilitation and recovery service for men with a primary diagnosis of mental disorder. The service is situated in Salford, Greater Manchester.
