Clinical Psychologist Opportunity in CAMHS West, Weymouth, and Portland

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic newly qualified or early-career Clinical Psychologist looking to develop their skills within a supportive and progressive service? The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in West, Weymouth, and Portland are looking to recruit you.

In Dorset, we are transforming our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services into a Family Mental Health model that embraces and adopts the THRIVE framework. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to service development and innovation, supporting a whole-family approach grounded in compassion, collaboration, and shared decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a specialist clinical psychology service to children, young people, and their families, delivering high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for complex mental health presentations.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines, managing a defined caseload and contributing to multidisciplinary and multi-agency care planning.
  • Use a range of psychological models and assessment tools to inform intervention, undertake risk assessments, and contribute to effective risk management.
  • Provide specialist consultation and advice to colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, outcome evaluation, and maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Engage in regular supervision, continuing professional development, and reflective practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
