We are looking for a skilled and compassionate clinical psychologist to join us in Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust CAMHS.
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 7 or newly qualified clinical psychologist to join our specialist enhanced CFC service in CAMHS which caters for the unique mental health needs of cared for children and care leavers.
Role Description
The Staying Close Clinical Psychologist works with care leavers (aged 16-25), providing a mixture of direct and indirect clinical work as part of Stockport’s innovative Wellbeing Hub. The Hub is lead by a Principal Clinical Psychologist, and brings together two specialist services:
- The Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team, which supports children aged 0–18 who are at child protection level or cared for by Stockport Family
- The Staying Close Wellbeing Service, which promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of care-experienced young people aged 16–25 who have lived in residential care
Together, these services provide a psychologically informed, relationally attuned offer for some of Stockport’s most vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultations, formulations and reflective practice to support colleagues in understanding and responding to the emotional needs of care experienced young people, helping to strengthen the psychological thinking that underpins care planning and multi-agency decision making
- Work alongside Therapeutic Social Workers and staff from CAMHS, and the broader Cared For Children’s Enhanced service
