Senior Clinical Psychologist/ Counselling Psychologist/ Psychological Therapist: Band 8a, 18.75 hours per week.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist, or Psychological Therapist to be part of a well established and supportive psychological team working with clients presenting with significant mental health difficulties as part of the South Tyneside Community Treatment Team (CTT).
The post sits within the non-psychosis pathway, offering interventions for service users with complex and enduring mental health difficulties including PTSD, dissociative disorders, personality difficulties and long standing affective disorders.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be based at Palmer Community Hospital, Jarrow, within a large and established multi disciplinary team. Alongside colleagues from various disciplines, you will be central to providing a range of evidence-based psychological interventions, including CBT, EMDR, DBT, and CAT. The role also involves providing clinical supervision and scaffolding to the wider team. Furthermore, there are opportunities to link in with the wider psychology team across the locality to contribute training and research.

Responsibilities
- Providing a qualified specialist psychological therapy to clients in South Tyneside CTT
- Providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and therapeutic interventions
- Providing clinical supervision, advice, and consultation to colleagues, and to other non-professional carers, on psychological aspects of evidence-based assessment, formulation, care, and treatment
- Working as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring high quality individualized care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximizing independence
- Providing clinical supervision and clinical consultation/advice in accordance with service needs
- Taking a lead role within the team for psychological treatments in the non-psychosis pathway, including responsibility for checking adherence to NICE guidance through clinical supervision and monitoring
- Providing compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity
- Contributing to training on a multi-disciplinary basis
- Utilizing research skills for audit, policy, and service development and other research within the remit of the post
- Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures
