Clinical Research Fellowship in Radiology

This is a full-time clinical research fellowship within the Department of Radiology at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, supporting the Trust’s cancer imaging research programme and the delivery of high-quality imaging response assessment for clinical trials.

The post is intended for a radiologist who is post-FRCR or equivalent, with full General Medical Council (GMC) registration or is eligible for full GMC registration. The successful candidate will contribute to clinical imaging, support Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)-related imaging research, as well as develop and provide expertise in Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours (RECIST) and other response criteria within a specialist oncology centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive structured training in the Royal Marsden RECIST/imaging response assessment workflow, including use of local software systems and reporting processes.
  • Support the RECIST service.
  • Undertake baseline RECIST assessments and contribute to follow-up response assessments.
  • Review and advise on complex trial imaging queries, including lesion selection, new lesion assessment, target/non-target lesion interpretation, and response categorisation.
  • Participate in relevant clinical trials meetings, including the weekly RECIST meeting and other tumour-specific trial imaging meetings as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
