Job Description

Bodyline Medical Wellness Clinics is a leading CQC-registered clinical services and clinical research group with nearly 20 years of experience delivering patient-centred, medically supported health programmes. With seven clinics across the Northwest and a nationwide telehealth service, Bodyline specialises in obesity, metabolic and female health — offering GLP-1 weight management, hormone replacement therapy, and diagnostic health services.

As part of our continued growth and commitment to innovation, accessibility, and improved health outcomes across the UK, Bodyline has expanded through a dedicated Clinical Research Trial Services and is recruiting a Clinical Research Recruitment & Engagement Manager.

As the Clinical Research Patient Recruitment Lead, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the company's patient recruitment and engagement strategy across all clinical research studies. You will be accountable for building scalable recruitment pathways through GP networks, pharmacies, patient databases, social media, community outreach, charities, patient advocacy groups, healthcare partnerships, and referral programmes.

You will create a structured patient recruitment function capable of delivering recruitment targets for large-scale Phase II-IV clinical trials across obesity, diabetes, metabolic disease, cardiovascular health, women's health, and other therapeutic areas.

This is a strategic and operational leadership role requiring expertise in patient acquisition, lead generation, conversion management, performance analytics, and stakeholder engagement.

The role is a full-time position based at The Bodyline Clinic, Head office in Disley, Cheshire. You will need to be able to travel to all our research sites in Openshaw, Warrington, and Stoke.

  • Develop and implement a company-wide patient recruitment strategy.
  • Create recruitment plans for all upcoming and active clinical trials.
  • Establish recruitment forecasts, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting structures.
  • Build scalable recruitment processes across all research sites.
  • Lead recruitment meetings and provide performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Identify recruitment risks and implement mitigation strategies.

GP Network Development

  • Develop and expand GP referral networks.
  • Create engagement programmes with GP practices.
  • Build referral pathways and recruitment agreements.
  • Coordinate educational sessions and awareness campaigns with external healthcare professionals and working with our internal teams.
  • Monitor referral performance and optimise conversion rates.

Pharmacy Partnership Development

  • Develop community and independent pharmacy recruitment programmes.
  • Establish referral partnerships with pharmacy groups.
  • Implement pharmacy-based patient identification and referral pathways.
  • Track pharmacy recruitment metrics and return on investment.

Existing Patient Database Management

  • Maximise utilisation of existing patient databases.
  • Develop patient segmentation strategies.
  • Create outreach campaigns targeting eligible patient populations.
  • Implement database mining and pre-screening initiatives.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and patient consent management.

Digital & Social Media Recruitment

  • Develop social media recruitment strategies with our internal marketing teams.
  • Work with our internal marketing teams to create patient-facing campaigns.
  • Deliver appropriate recruitment advertising across Facebook, Instagram, Google, and other channels using our internal marketing teams.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recruitment costs.
  • Optimise lead generation and patient conversion funnels.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

  • Develop relationships with charities, patient advocacy groups, and community organisations.
  • Identify new patient acquisition channels.
  • Organise awareness events and educational programmes.
  • Build partnerships with healthcare providers and community stakeholders.

Recruitment Operations

  • Support and implement the design of patient pre-screening processes with our internal team.
  • Develop recruitment SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Oversee patient journey mapping from lead generation through randomisation.
  • Improve recruitment efficiency and patient retention.
  • Establish recruitment quality metrics and governance.

Performance & Analytics

  • Produce weekly and monthly recruitment reports.
  • Analyse recruitment funnel performance.
  • Monitor:
    • Lead generation
    • Contact rates
    • Pre-screening success rates
    • Screening rates
    • Randomisation rates
    • Recruitment costs
    • Site performance
  • Present recruitment metrics and improvement plans to leadership teams.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in patient recruitment, healthcare marketing, clinical research operations, or business development.
  • Experience recruiting patients into clinical trials.
  • Strong understanding of NHS, primary care, and healthcare environments.
  • Experience managing CRM systems and patient databases.
  • Experience developing recruitment campaigns and outreach programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.

Desirable Experience

  • Obesity, diabetes, metabolic disease, or primary care research experience.
  • Experience working with GP practices and pharmacies.
  • Experience managing digital marketing campaigns.
  • Knowledge of HRA, GDPR, and patient privacy requirements.
  • Clinical research site or CRO experience.
