About Us

Scottish Brain Sciences is a Life Sciences Company with Headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. We conduct observational research and deliver clinical trials of new treatments for a range of neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease. We foster the rapid translation of research into practice (bench to bedside).

About the Role

As our new Clinical Research Physician, based in Edinburgh, you will be responsible for activities on clinical research studies, particularly in early detection and treatment of brain conditions. There will be close supervision from Dr Meher Lad, Consultant Neurologist & Medical Director and Prof Craig Ritchie, Professor of Brain Health and Neurodegenerative Disease (St. Andrews University) & CEO of Scottish Brain Sciences.

Responsibilities

Some of what you’ll be doing:

  • Performing medical procedures
  • Collaborating with other research staff
  • Developing further research skills

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

The skills, experience, and qualifications you’ll bring:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK (please provide PIN with your application)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in neuroscience or related field is a plus.

Job Details

Job Type: Fixed Term – one-year, possible opportunity for extension.
Starting Date: October 2026
Hours: Full time (35 hours)
Pay: £45,500.00 - £55,000.00 per year (depending on experience)
Location: Edinburgh with occasional travel to Aberdeen
