Clinical Senior Lecturer - Academic Lead Primary care Year 3 - 16235

We are recruiting a Senior Clinical Lecturer post, permanent basis. The Senior Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Primary Care Lead for Year 3, for a 5-year duration, with a potential to extend. In addition, the postholder will be required to lead on Professionalism for the whole 5 year MBBS program.

Brunel Medical School first opened its doors to students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including early patient clinical contact in years 1 & 2, Team-Based Learning (TBL) and programmatic assessment. We are recruiting a Senior Clinical Lecturer post, permanent basis. The Senior Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Primary Care Lead for Year 3, for a 5-year duration, with a potential to extend. In addition, the postholder will be required to lead on Professionalism for the whole 5 year MBBS program.

The postholder will be a Senior Clinician, GMC registered with a licence to practice, and in practice as a GP. They will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university-affiliated role. Ideally, they will have experience of primary care undergraduate teaching with a wide range of educational experience and skills.

The postholder will be a key member of the Primary Care team led by the Academic Head of Primary Care. They will have responsibility for the design, delivery, quality management and enhancement of the Phase 2 year 3 undergraduate medical education within the primary care setting and related teaching within the medical school.

The post holder will contribute to other areas of medical education, such as TBL, the House Tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCE. They will also participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process. Duties may vary, and leadership roles may rotate depending on requirements of the programme.
