Job Summary
Role: Clinical Senior Occupational Therapist Location: Gawler East, Gawler Health Service Shift: Part-time (0.5 FTE), Ongoing Salary: AHP3 – $112,139–$120,284 p.a. (adjusted to actual hours worked)
About the Role
This Clinical Senior Occupational Therapist position leads high-quality occupational therapy services within the Emergency Department. You will:
- Ensure patients receive appropriate functional and environmental assessment linked to their clinical presentation.
- Support safe and timely discharge plans.
- Offer advanced clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring, workforce development, quality improvement, and research.
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to integrate OT services across the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.
- Engage in non-consumer-facing roles, strengthening occupational therapy and social work practices across the network.

How Will You Contribute?
Core Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, including:
- Functional screens and interventions
- Collaborative discharge planning
- Impact assessments of illness or injury on independence
- Support implementation to improve safety and functionality pre-discharge

Facilitate safe patient transitions from hospital to home, reducing readmission risk.

Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to OT and allied health staff.

Drive evidence-based practice, contributing to quality improvement projects, research, and workforce strategies.

Essential Requirements for Success
