Clinical Service Lead
Clinical Service Lead (CSL) – Crisis Pathway
We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Crisis Pathway as a Clinical Service Lead (CSL). This role will support the Wandsworth, Merton, and Night Enhanced Home Treatment (HTT) Teams, reflecting the growing scale and complexity within this pathway while reinforcing clinical leadership, governance, and operational oversight in urgent and emergency mental health care.
You will provide critical day-to-day operational and clinical leadership to ensure a safe, responsive, person-centred, and well-integrated service across:
- Wandsworth Home Treatment Team
- Merton Home Treatment Team
- Enhanced Night Home Treatment Team
- Mechanisms for multi-agency collaboration, including Police, Law Enforcement Agencies (LAS), Acute Trust Emergency Departments, Liaison Psychiatry, and Crisis Services.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Clinical Leadership
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for Home Treatment Teams, ensuring safe and effective service delivery. -_align service performance with Trust policies, the Mental Health Act, CQC standards, national guidance, and multi-agency expectations.
Workforce Management & Wellbeing
- Oversee rostering, supervision, appraisal processes, sickness absence management, and staff wellbeing, particularly in a high acuity environment.
- Ensure the workforce is supported to maintain excellence under demanding operations.

Quality Assurance & Service Improvement
- Lead on performance monitoring and service improvement, using KPIs, clinical audits, and data analytics to:
- Identify operational gaps.
- delivered sustained improvement through evidence-based interventions.
Governance Systems & Risk Reduction
- Strengthen incident reporting, risk management practices, safeguarding protocols, seclusion oversight, and constant observation compliance.
- Drive learning from incidents to enhance care quality and prevent recurrence.
Partnership & Collaboration
- Work closely with the Clinical Manager and Head of Nursing & Quality to provide assurance on quality, safety, and patient experience.
- Foster effectiveness partnerships with:
- Acute Trust colleagues.
- Police and LAS.
- Liaison Psychiatry teams.
- HTTs, wards, and voluntary sector partners.
- Improve pathways, flow, and escalation processes by breaking silos between teams.
Leadership Culture
- promote a culture of continuous improvement, psychologically safe leadership, and Clinical Excellence.
- Representing HTTs at internal and external meetings to provide assurance on quality and performance to senior leadership and system partners.
