Clinical Rotas Administrator
Job Overview

With support from Senior Managers and Clinicians, the post-holder will be responsible for the daily operational management of medical staffing issues and rota co-ordination.
Key Aspects of the Role:
- Developing, coordinating, and managing all medical rotas within the directorate
- Working within the Emergency Quadrant (EQ) and Emergency Department, supported by Medical Workforce
Main Duties
- Requires a good working knowledge of junior medical working patterns and terms and conditions
- Oversees daily administration of medical staffing issues in ED/EQ, including prospective cover arrangements
- Proactively identifies planned shortages of cover (on-call or ward work) and implements solutions in collaboration with:
- Senior managers
- Consultant medical staff
- Junior medical teams
- Medical staffing department
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and English speakers are equally encouraged to apply.

Detailed Responsibilities
- Produces monthly duty roster for all medical & management staff in the Emergency Quadrant
- Manages ** ongoing Out of Hours rotas** for both medical and management teams
- Works within the Unscheduled Care (USC) Management Team, undertaking ad hoc projects as needed in alignment with the post’s grade responsibilities.

Person Specification
Educational Requirements
Essential:
- Degree-level education or significant equivalent experience
Desirable:
- Relevant Management qualification (e.g., ILM Level 4, Nebuls)
Professional Experience
Essential:
- Experience in allocating staffing resources
- Experience in developing staff rotas
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with clinical staff
Personal Attributes
Essential:
- Ability to co-ordinate and alter complex work schedules
- Capacity to communicate clearly and accurately with all medical staff grades
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a hospital environment or with healthcare professionals
