Clinical Services Coordinator - Emergency Quadrant - INTERNAL

Post-Holder – Medical Staffing Officer (Daily Operational Management & Rota Coordination)

Post Overview

NOTICE: Applications are only accepted from staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The post-holder will manage daily operational medical staffing and rota coordination, supporting Senior Managers and Clinicians with administration and co-ordination across the Emergency Quadrant (EQ) and Emergency Department.

Core Responsibilities

Key Duties

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage all medical rotas within the directorate.
  • Maintain daily operational oversight of medical staffing and rota administration in the ED/EQ, including prospective cover arrangements.
  • Act proactively to foresee and address planned shortages for on-call or ward cover, collaborating with:
    • Senior Managers
    • Consultant Medical Staff
    • Junior Medical Teams
    • Medical Staffing Department
  • Manage monthly duty rosters for medical & management staff in the Emergency Quadrant.
  • Oversee Out-of-Hours rota administration for both medical and managerial staff.
  • Work as part of the Unscheduled Care (USC) Management Team on ad hoc projects pertinent to the post’s responsibilities.

Person Specification

Educational Requirements

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification OR significant equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Relevant management qualification (e.g., ILM Level 4 / NEBs).

Professional Experience

Essential

  • Experience in allocating staffing resources.
  • Experience in developing staff rotas.

Desirable

  • Previous work with clinical staff, preferably within a healthcare environment.

Personal Skills & Competencies

Essential

  • Ability to coordinate and alter complex work schedules under varying conditions.
  • Proficiency in clearly and accurately communicating with stakeholders at all medical hierarchical levels.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a hospital environment or with healthcare professionals.
