Role Overview

The Sleep Technician/Nurse will work under the supervision of the Lead Nurse within a very busy Sleep Department, collaborating to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • CPAP Therapy: Initiating and reviewing CPAP therapy and assessing its effectiveness.
  • Patient Education: Providing patient education on sleep-disordered breathing, ensuring individuals understand their condition and treatment.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge.
  • Accurate Results: Producing accurate and clinically relevant results.
  • Professional Development: Taking responsibility for ongoing professional development and registration requirements.
  • Compassion and Respect: Consistently demonstrating compassion, respect, and professionalism in interactions with both patients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Experience: Must have experience in setting up patients on CPAP and reviewing patients.
  • Efficacy Review: Review efficacy of CPAP therapy & identify further testing if required.
  • Education: Educate patients around sleep disordered breathing.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Maintain up to date clinical knowledge.
  • Accurate Results: Obtain accurate and informative results.
  • Professional Development: Responsible for own professional development and professional registration.
  • Care and Respect: Demonstrate care and respect, for both patients and fellow staff members.
