About the Role

As a Clinical Specialist – Robotics & Orthopaedics Lancashire, you’ll bridge gaps between cutting-edge technology and real-world surgical solutions. Forging ahead with the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution, ATTUNE™ Knee System, and broader portfolio, you’ll steer robotic-enabled healthcare forward—turning technical expertise into transformative patient care.
Core Purpose: Be the collaborating partner for surgeons, theatre teams, and hospital partners, embedding safe, efficient, and high-volume adoption of robotics—all while growing both revenue and clinical confidence in advanced orthopaedics.
Your Impact
🔬 Clinical & Technical Support
- Deliver real-time in-theatre clinical and technical assistance for VELYS™ system usage, ATTUNE™ reconstructions, and associated tools.
- Educate consulting surgeons, nursing teams, and theatre personnel on indication therapies, procedural workflows, and compliance.
- Provide ad-hoc support across orthopaedic and robotic surgeries in your territory.
⚙ Robotics Programme Development
- Lead launch and sustainable activation of VELYS intensive care programmes, helping surgeons adapt to robotic workflows.
- Achieve case volume growth, facilities certification, and long-term engagement through training, workflow analyses, and ongoing clinical support.
- Align with targets for weeks per case, activation rates, and product expansion.

🤝 Customer & Account Development
- Build enduring partnerships with surgery teams, chief medical officers (CMOs), and hospital executives.
- Streamline case planning, stock management, and logistical support.
- Contribute to high-value account strategy—anxious to nurture loyalty in contract negotiations, preferred provider feeds, and technique development.
🎓 Education & Training
- Curate and deliver tailored training programmes, from lectures to consultations, including digital upskilling sessions.
- Support cadaveric workshops, virtual learning, and real-world scratch scrubs to foster KOL influence and healthcare audit support.
- Act as a resource for Johnson & Johnson Medical Line’s national programme development efforts.

About You
🔑 Essential Skills + Experience
- Degree or HND-level qualification in clinical fields (nursing, physiotherapy, biomedical, medical science) or theatre operations.
- Hands-on experience in orthopaedics, robotic technologies (or high potential for transition), or related medical devices — proving your capability to speak both the patient and surgical linguistic.
- Strong communication for dynamic teamwork and to influence via presentation, coaching, or multi-level stakeholder dialogue.
- Proven organisation skills with a commercial mindset + entrepreneurial drive: productivity in fast-paced environments.
- A Level 1 travel badging is a prerequisite for those who can deliver 70–80% off-site support.

🚀 Desirable Attributes
- Previous exposure to surgical robotics through TNO, Orthosense, or Siemens.
- Confidence in knee reconstruction/arthroplasty theatres and the uniqueness of total knee variables (like ATTUNE™ pace*use cases).
- Sales or medical device experience, emphasizing product consulting and relational customer support.
- Formalised clinical training programme design and delivery experience.
