Clinical Specialist – Medical Device Sales & Support

You will play a pivotal role in supporting, consulting, and training surgeons and theatre teams in the effective use of Acumed medical products across the surgical process. As the Clinical Specialist, you’ll maintain strong relationships with NHS hospitals—driving surgical success by ensuring optimal implants, instrumentation, and preoperative/postoperative guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Consultancy Support
- Provide real-time consultation and training to surgeons and theatre staff on Acumed products throughout surgical planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Offer evidence-based guidance to support clinical decision-making at every stage of the surgical procedure.
- Deliver case-specific instruction, including application of the Acumed surgical portfolio (orthopaedics/trauma-related devices).
- Attend regional symposiums or workshops, representing Acumed and advancing professional knowledge within the network.

Account & Inventory Management
- Lead day-to-day account management of assigned NHS hospital contracts, ensuring:
- Stock audits & reconciliation for implants, instruments, and loan kits.
- Implement liquidate policies for old/damaged inventory, extracting compliance.
- Facilitate loan kit bookings, ensuring readiness of instruments.
- Ensure implants are available for scheduled operations.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) against set targets, collaborating with Regional Sales Managers for policy adherence.
Stakeholder & Operational Excellence
- Act as the interface between hospitals and the Regional Sales Manager, championing the Acumed brand.
- Train and coeach theatre staff on surgical workflows, policies, and use of Acumed technologies.
- Adhere to NHS trust policies, infection control protocols, and academic governance guidelines.
- Maintain CRM systems and records accurately, documenting interactions, audits, and sales performance.
- Manage and ensure the upkeep of Acumed-built assets, including laptops, mobile phones, and audit tracking equipment.
- Complete all administrative tasks promptly, complying with company policy.

Necessary Skills
- A basic understanding of anatomy and physiology, particularly relating to surgery (orthopaedics/trauma).
- Proficiency in web-based CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clinicians across multidisciplinary teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving approach under diverse pressure.
Requirements
- Appropriate educational background supported by industry-related experience (degree/qualification desirable).
- Individual contracted with the NHS or related healthcare performance framework experience preferred.
- Full working ability within healthcare environments.
- Must undergo job-related screening following an offer, compliant with relevant laws.
