Job Description Summary
BD is seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Specialist to join our team. As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provides a wide range of products for:
- Injection and infusion therapy
- Regional anaesthesia
- Closed medication management
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled vascular access practitioner who will provide evidence-based, best practice training and consultation in vascular access management—both peripheral and central. This role requires collaboration with Medical, Commercial, and Market Access teams to develop and identify key accounts, while supporting Territory Managers in the following ways:
- Facilitating the development of new vascular access services
- Implementing new products in clinical areas
- Providing clinical expertise and evidence-based clinical training at departmental and individual levels
This position is field-based and covers South & East Yorkshire and the North Midlands, with a requirement to spend a minimum of 80% of the time in the field per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability for clinical expertise: Continually attain, maintain, and expand clinical proficiency in vascular access and IV therapy
- Collaboration with Territory Managers: Ensure BD’s MDS business objectives are achieved
- Development of clinical training programs: Data collection and design of educational initiatives within the assigned geography
- Leveraging expertise: Use clinical and product knowledge to support BD solutions and meet customer needs
- Evidence-based training: Provide training in vascular access and IV therapy—both internally and externally
- Technical support: Offer assistance to customers and internal teams
- Key Opinion Leader engagement: Collaborate with MDS medical advisors to develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and advocates
- Partnership with key customers: Drive clinical advocacy for BD product solutions

About You: Key Requirements
- First-level Nursing Qualification and current NMC registration
- Teaching or mentoring certification
- Experience in the insertion of peripheral and central vascular access devices
- Previous experience working in a Vascular Access Team, including advanced access devices (highly desirable)
- Recognised certificate in supervisory clinical education
- Demonstrated ability to deliver vascular access and IV therapy training, both theory and practice
Optional Skills (Additional Strengths)
- Vascular Access Board Certification (AVA)
- Experience using data collection to demonstrate reduction in complications and improved clinical outcomes
- Experience supervising training sessions and measuring training effectiveness
Compensation
- Salary range: £43,300 to £60,000
- Bonus and benefits package included

Salaries follow a range depending on role requirements and local labour conditions. Current Salary Range for this role: £43,300–£66,025 per year
