Position Summary
The Early Intervention Assistant Program Director supports the overall management, supervision, and daily operations of the Early Intervention (EI) Program, collaborating closely with the Program Director.
This role includes:
- Direct leadership to team members
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and agency standards
- Maintaining high-quality, family-centred services
- Acting as a key leadership team member with administrative oversight in the absence of the Program Director
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Oversight & Administration
- Oversee daily program operations in collaboration with the Program Director
- Ensure compliance with:
- Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations
- Early Intervention Operational Standards
- Agency policies
- Maintain timely completion of program documentation and reports
- Monitor team caseloads to meet DPH timelines and productivity requirements
- Support administrative tasks:
- Billing reconciliation
- Consult management
- Fundraising & outreach activities
- Participate in and co-facilitate Parent Advisory Council meetings and outreach events
- Assume program leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Program Director

2. Staff Supervision & Development
- Provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring for Early Intervention Specialists and the team
- Conduct or co-facilitate team meetings, peer reviews, and professional development sessions
- Oversee onboarding and training for new hires
- Perform or assist with annual performance evaluations
- Support staff in Certified Early Intervention Specialist (CEIS) credentialing
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive team environment
3. Service Provision & Clinical Support
- Participate in service delivery where needed to support program operations
- May carry a small caseload (up to 15% productivity) to retain clinical expertise
- Provide clinical quality supervision during direct service delivery
- Promote family-centred, developmentally appropriate services aligned with Early Intervention philosophy
4. Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with the Program Director and leadership team to:
- Support strategic planning
- Drive quality improvement initiatives
- Achieve operational goals
- Represent the program at meetings, trainings, and community events
- Contribute to:
- Program evaluation
- Policy development
- Implementation of best practices

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Must meet educational and credentialing requirements per Massachusetts Early Intervention Operational Standards
- Certified Early Intervention Specialist (CEIS), or currently pursuing certification (pending DPH approval)
- Minimum 5 years of Early Intervention experience
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and mentoring skills
- Strong:
- Organisational abilities
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- CPR/First Aid Certified (or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe)
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel extensively
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in staff supervision or program coordination within:
- Early Intervention
- Human services settings
- Experience managing:
- Compliance
- Documentation
- Operational processes
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency
Note: Early Intervention experience is required.
