At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

An Exciting Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Support Worker to provide an active role and assistance to the Paediatric Service. The role will be based at Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke within our Paediatric Wards.

Role Responsibilities

The Clinical Support Worker will be expected to:

  • Take an active role, assisting the team
  • Label and send off specimens
  • Assist with transporting patients to the ward
  • Provide patient care

The role of the Clinical Support Worker post is flexible, and the post holder will, therefore, be required to provide support over a wide range of service/functions. Key to this flexibility is the requirement for staff to work variable hours on a week-by-week basis within agreed limits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
