Clinical Technologist

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic individuals for the post of Clinical Technologist within the Medical Physics Department, NHS Forth Valley.

The service is provided across NHS Forth Valley from the Medical Physics Department based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The duties of the post will include the commissioning, installation, repair and routine maintenance of a wide range of medical equipment used within Theatres, ITU, the Emergency Department, the Neonatal Unit, Cardiology, Ophthalmology and other clinical departments throughout the area.

The Medical Physics Department operates a registered Quality Management System accredited to BSI ISO 9001:2015, and the post holder will be expected to undertake duties associated with this quality system.

An asset management database is used for the management of equipment, and the post holder will be expected to use this system as part of their duties.

Qualifications: Applicants should possess a degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline. HND or HNC level qualifications will be considered if accompanied by relevant practical experience.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
