Senior Garment Technologist (Apparel and Accessories)


About the Company

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Garment Technologist to join a successful fast fashion manufacturer and supplier to both wholesale and high street retailers.


Role Summary

A senior-level position overseeing garment and accessory production from point of sale to completion, ensuring compliance with quality standards, batch tracking, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

Production & Quality Control

  • Manual amendments to garments and accessories
  • Fit meeting attendance and compliance
  • Quality assurance: Gauging production quality against required standards and tolerance metrics
  • Critical path management to prevent delays
  • Arranging pre-production QC checks and inbound/outbound logistics monitoring
  • Executing and approving strike-off approvals, lab dips, and fabric testing
  • Compiling test reports for compliance

Operational & Strategic Oversight

  • End-to-end production and scheduling planning
  • Price negotiation aligned with budgets
  • Maintaining/improving production targets within financial constraints
  • Supplier relationship management, including Far East factories and retail accounts
  • Resolving issues with Vendors, factories, and high street stores

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Identifying opportunities for quality enhancement
  • Liaising with internal teams on garment design improvements
  • Collaborating on workflow optimisation and efficiency gains
  • Compiling routine reports and invoicing details

Requirements

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Minimum 4-5 years in a similar senior role within apparel or accessories
  • Deep knowledge of manual garment adjustments
  • Proven factory audit experience
  • Combination of both apparel and accessories expertise

Core Competencies

  • Analytical mind with attention to detail (accuracy-critical role)
  • No-nonsense approach under tight deadlines
  • Proven record of improving quality standards and client relationships
  • Experienced in critical path analysis and workflow management
  • Production-cost-conscious negotiation skills

Interpersonal & Communication

  • Excellent liaison skills with factory managers, clients, and cross-department teams
  • Strong business negotiation acumen
  • Ability to resolve technical and logistical challenges diplomatically

Technical

  • Fully computer literate ( Applications including ERP, inventory, planning systems)
  • Working familiarity with quality control datalogging and improvement software
