About The Role

DXC Technology, in collaboration with hackajob, is seeking experienced Cloud Application Developers to join their dynamic team at one of their platinum accounts. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement scalable, high-availability cloud solutions primarily using Azure, AWS, and private cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating fully automated solutions leveraging open-source software to deliver value-driven services to clients. This position requires a proactive approach to advising clients on the latest technological advancements, implementing security policies, and ensuring solutions meet organizational strategic goals. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where innovation and technical excellence are highly valued, with an expectation of five days onsite in Gloucestershire.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in cloud computing, software development, and system integration. Relevant qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, along with proficiency in programming languages like Python, React, and Go, is essential. Familiarity with deploying applications in cloud environments, web server management (NGINX, Apache), and API development will be highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for learning emerging technologies. Knowledge of security protocols, monitoring tools, and agile methodologies will further strengthen your application.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with project teams and stakeholders to understand business needs, technical requirements, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on the latest cloud technologies and methodologies, recommending innovative automation solutions to optimize processes.
  • Design and implement scalable, high-availability solutions that adhere to security policies and organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based applications, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and performant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various systems and services, including web applications and APIs.
  • Monitor system performance using tools such as ELK, Nagios, DataDog, or Splunk, and implement necessary improvements.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold best practices and quality standards.
  • Stay updated with emerging tools, techniques, and industry trends to continuously improve solutions and workflows.
