Contract Job Title: Cloud Architect, Engineering, Defence & Security (DV clearance required) Contract Start Date: March 2026 Contract Length: 12 months, with potential extension Contract Classification: Inside IR25 Contract Location: London, Bristol or Manchester with hybrid working (2/3 days in the office)
** Mandatory requirement: Must have DV Clearance **

Are you able to guide defence users through complex technology challenges, and rapidly develop new solutions to meet defence needs? We are looking for an experienced senior hire to help digitise defence with new thinking on technology capabilities and adoption processes, and someone who is sensitively able to combine the latest thinking with traditional military functions.

You will guide our clients through their cloud journey from strategy through to a working and breathing environment supporting their most critical services. You will help to build robust and scalable cloud platforms that enable teams to deliver modern micro-services based and digital solutions and continuously improve environments through automation and infrastructure-as-code.
You will focus on helping our clients design and implement modern, agile Cloud environments. Responsibilities will include delivering across a broad range of activities from technical and solution architecture design to operations, prototyping, developing and testing (depending on the size of the project and the client needs).
You will be collaborating with cloud thought leaders across disciplines to innovate together contributing to RFP responses and other business development activities and building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

Required Skills & Experience: All applicants must hold UK security clearance to Developed Vetting level Cloud Architecture & Engineering Cloud technologies and services (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform / OCI). Container technologies (e.g. Docker, Rocket) and their associated orchestration engines (Kubernetes / OpenShift / Rancher / Swarm). Infrastructure as code development (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM, GCP CDM). Running and using Cloud automation tooling including Continuous Integration & Deployment. DevOps philosophies and toolchains such as continuous integration and delivery. Linux and windows system implementation and management using automation frame works such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet, PowerShell etc. Application deployment and testing tool chains such as Jenkins, SVN, GitHub. Knowledge of security and performance considerations and approaches for digital systems, and exposure to security and performance testing process. Experience helping clients define technical and non-functional requirements. Cloud environment design and implementation. Cloud Consulting Defining and delivering a Cloud Strategy and Operating Model that aligns to and underpins business, technology and/or digital strategies. #LI-Hybrid
