The Infrastructure Architect is a senior technical authority responsible for defining, governing, and evolving infrastructure architecture across M365, Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and on-premises systems.
Operating within a complex, federated environment consisting of a central headquarters and over 40 individual operating companies, this role provides critical architectural direction, standards, and assurance across the group. The successful candidate will ensure infrastructure platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with overall business and technology strategies, while enabling individual operating companies to adopt best practices consistently.
The position works closely with senior technical leads (across Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Enterprise Applications, and Digital Solutions) to provide architectural oversight for major initiatives, migrations, and digital transformations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Design Authority
- Design Authority: Act as the primary design authority for enterprise infrastructure across M365, Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and hybrid/on-premises environments.
- Standards & Roadmaps: Define and maintain global infrastructure principles, standards, reference designs, and target roadmaps.
- Tenant & Cloud Strategy: Lead M365 tenant strategy and complex migrations aligned to security, identity, compliance, and operating models.
- Azure Architecture: Define Azure and hybrid architecture patterns aligned to the Azure Well-Architected Framework (focusing on cost, reliability, security, operations, and performance).
- Modernisation: Oversee on-premises infrastructure architecture, integration, lifecycle management, and modernisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
