Cloud Developer
Cloud Developer – 501 Entertainment Limited

Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Developer to design, build, and evolve 501’s platform, including:
- Customer-facing web application (the 501 Hub)
- REST APIs and React-based user interfaces
- Internal tooling and back-end services
- Collaboration across Delivery Managers, Product Owners, QA, and DevOps—spanning the full development lifecycle from front-end UI to cloud infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
Application Development
- Work with Product Owners, Developers, customers, and end users to refine requirements.
- Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into functional features.
- Build and maintain the 501 Hub using React and TypeScript.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs consumed by web, Android, and in-venue hardware.
- Develop secure, tested server-side logic and database access layers.
- Create additional cloud offerings for internal and customer use.
- Develop internal utilites/tooling with appropriate technologies.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Architect and deploy cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.
- Contribute to monitoring and observability solutions.
- Adhere to cloud security best practices.

Quality, Testing & Documentation
- Write automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) for critical business logic.
- Ensure clean, modular code with clear maintenance.
- Actively participate in code reviews while providing thorough feedback.
- Conduct exploratory testing and engage in QA review cycles.
- Commuicate development progress and risk factors proactively.
- Maintain technical documentation and inline code annotations.
- Foster knowledge sharing through internal demonstrations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks for scalability and efficiency.
- Stay updated on cloud development trends and tools.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and process refinements.
Core Skills
- Technical Capability & Ownership
- Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript; React (hooks, state management, component architecture); media formats & optimisation (image/videos).
- Backend & APIs: RESTful APIs, Node.js/Node.js-like runtimes, OAuth/JWT security.
- Databases: Relational database design, queries, migrations.
- Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP deployment and integration.
- Security practices (OWASP Top 10, GDPR compliance).
- Version Control: Git, pull requests, branching strategies (Github).
- Agile Engagment: Scrum/Agile workflows and Software Development Lifecycle processes.

- Communication: Translate technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders while clarifying architectural decisions.

Minimum Experience
- HTML / CSS / JavaScript: Professional-level production experience.
- React: First-class familiarity with components, hooks, and state management systems.
- Relational Databases: 2+ years hands-on design, querying, migration. .
Desired Experience (Bonus but not mandatory)
- Full-Stack Skills: Production-grade Node.js + React architecture.
- Media Processing: Advanced handling of media codecs/frames.
- CI/CD: Docker + GitHub Actions for streamlined delivery.
- Real-Time Tech: Experience with web sockets or similar mechanisms.
- Cloud platforms: Deep Azure/AWS/GCP exposure.
