About The Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cloud Engineer to join our Managed and Cloud Services team. This role is ideal for individuals who are early in their cloud career and eager to develop their expertise in cloud infrastructure and services. As a Cloud Engineer at System C, you will play a vital role in supporting the deployment, operation, and maintenance of both internal and customer cloud environments. You will work closely with experienced engineers, contributing to the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions that support critical health and social care services. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and to grow within a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, and possess a proactive, curious mindset. Relevant qualifications and experience include:
- Experience or exposure to Microsoft Azure, including deployment or support activities
- Understanding of IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS environments
- Basic scripting skills, such as PowerShell
- Exposure to infrastructure as code tools like ARM, Bicep, or Terraform, and an awareness of CI/CD practices
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (advantageous)
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, or IIS
- A foundational understanding of networking concepts
Desirable Qualifications Include
- Entry-level Azure certifications such as AZ-900 or AZ-104
- Experience with automation tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Awareness of ITIL or other service management frameworks
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Deploying, configuring, and supporting cloud infrastructure and services to meet internal and client requirements
- Monitoring the health, performance, and cost-efficiency of cloud and on-premise environments
- Supporting the implementation of cloud solutions, ensuring they align with best practices and security standards
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across Azure and Microsoft-based environments promptly
- Participating in disaster recovery planning, backup testing, and resilience initiatives to ensure high availability
- Maintaining comprehensive and accurate technical documentation and operational procedures for cloud environments
- Identifying potential risks and escalating issues to appropriate teams to minimize impact
- Collaborating with team members to foster a supportive, innovative, and productive work culture
