Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Projects) | £50,000–£65,000 | Sheffield
The Opportunity
Join a growing technology solutions provider delivering secure, modern cloud and infrastructure projects for customers across the UK.
This is a project-focused position centred on technical delivery rather than day-to-day BAU support. You’ll work closely with Solutions Architects and Project Managers to implement customer solutions across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, infrastructure, networking and security.
You’ll take ownership of projects from implementation through to documentation and handover, ensuring every solution is stable, secure and ready to transition into Managed Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering end-to-end customer projects across cloud, infrastructure and modern workplace technologies.
- Implementing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions, including migrations, tenant configuration, identity and security.
- Deploying and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
- Delivering infrastructure transformation projects across Windows Server, virtualisation, networking and storage.
- Implementing secure hybrid environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with Microsoft cloud services.
- Working from approved technical designs and architectural standards to build resilient, supportable solutions.
- Configuring networking and security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP and access controls.
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues throughout project delivery.
- Proactively identifying and escalating technical risks, dependencies and potential delays.
- Producing detailed technical documentation, implementation plans and handover materials.
- Supporting the structured transition of completed projects into Managed Services.
- Contributing to improvements across delivery standards, tooling, documentation and internal processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
