About the Role
You will design, build, and operate secure, reliable cloud infrastructure supporting data platforms at scale. This role focuses on improving backup and recovery, observability, and automation across AWS environments while enabling engineering teams through robust tooling and clear operational practices. You will work across infrastructure, security, and platform teams to ensure systems are resilient, efficient, and audit-ready.

Responsibilities
- Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring consistent environments across development, test, and production, with clear change traceability and audit readiness
- Operate and enhance observability through Grafana dashboards and alerting, improving signal quality and reducing noise
- Implement and manage backup and recovery policies using Clumio, including restore validation and disaster recovery readiness
- Troubleshoot platform and infrastructure incidents, leading root cause analysis and implementing preventative improvements
- Optimize cost and performance by analyzing usage patterns, rightsizing resources, and improving architectural efficiency
- Partner with security teams to implement controls for encryption, access management, logging, and compliance
- Maintain operational documentation and enable engineering teams to effectively use platform capabilities

Requirements
- Experience with AWS environments, including permissions, account onboarding, encryption/key strategies, and audit-ready reporting
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles, including RPO/RTO alignment and recovery testing
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Grafana, including dashboards, alerting, and SLO/SLA reporting
- Knowledge of metrics, logs, and traces, and ability to correlate signals across distributed systems
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, including testing, validation, and safe deployment practices
- Scripting and automation skills using Python and/or Bash for tooling and operational tasks
- Strong understanding of reliability, security, and cost optimization practices in cloud-based platforms
