Role Description
The Cloud Infrastructure Analyst is a full-time role based in the Greater Northampton Area, United Kingdom, with a hybrid working model that allows some work from home. The role involves monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency across production and non-production environments. The analyst will support the design and implementation of cloud architectures, assist with deployments, manage backups and disaster recovery processes, and handle incident resolution and root cause analysis.

Day-to-day activities include:
- Collaborating with development and operations teams
- Updating documentation
- Applying configuration changes
- Supporting continuous improvement of cloud services and automation
The role also requires regular reporting on system metrics and contributing to compliance with relevant standards and policies.
Qualifications
- Cloud platform skills (e.g., experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including core services like compute, storage, networking, and security configuration).
- Infrastructure and operations skills (e.g., system administration, monitoring, logging, incident management, backup and recovery, and performance tuning in cloud environments).
- Networking and security skills (e.g., VPC or virtual networks, firewalls, VPNs, identity and access management, encryption, and adherence to security best practices).
- Automation and tooling skills (e.g., scripting with Bash or PowerShell, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines).
- Monitoring and observability skills (e.g., use of tools for metrics, logs, and alerts, capacity planning, and proactive problem detection).
- Relevant experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering, ideally within standards-based or regulated environments such as public transport or ticketing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to document processes and configurations clearly.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a hybrid team setting and engage constructively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
