Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - AWS

Cloud Engineer (AWS) – UK-wide

Supporting a UK-wide network of over 5,000 local tech providers, Giacom simplifies procurement and management of technology solutions for businesses, with its leading Cloud Market platform.

Giacom’s Cloud Market consolidates cloud, comms, hardware, and IT products from globally trusted vendors in one interface.

About the Role

The Cloud Engineer (AWS) designs, deploys, and manages Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency. Working closely with the Cloud Engineering Manager and other tech teams, this role drives digital transformation, enhances service delivery, and maximises AWS investments.

Location: Primarily remote with 3 days in-person (either our Hessle or Prudhoe offices).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AWS infrastructure solutions (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda).
  • Optimise AWS environments for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Enforce cloud governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Automate cloud operations using CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CLI.
  • Support cloud migration projects and on-premises integrations.
  • Monitor cloud services and resolve incidents/performance issues.
  • Maintain Cloud Engineering documentation (architecture, configs, procedures).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to deliver business-aligned cloud solutions.
  • Provide 3rd line support for AWS-related escalations.
  • Stay updated on AWS advances to recommend new solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to IT security, data protection (GDPR/PIPEDA), and best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
