Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - AWS

Location: UK Remote or Hybrid - Candidates must be able to travel to data centers in the Portsmouth area as required, and be able to attend site within 2 hours.

Summary

Lead Forensics is a leading SaaS provider specializing in B2B sales and marketing solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to enhance and maintain the hybrid infrastructure that supports both our internal operations and customer-facing services.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring specific experience in supporting AWS infrastructure. But also a broad expertise with scalable cloud architectures, on-premise infrastructure and security.

A demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and proficiency in automation are highly valued for this position. The role can be remote first with no fixed time in the office required. However, candidates will need to be located within reasonable travel time of the Portsmouth area where we operate physical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure and on-premises platforms using Microsoft or Linux stacks.
  • Optimize infrastructure for security, performance, reliability and cost.
  • Work with Engineering teams to advance DevOps practices and closer collaboration.
  • Monitor systems, resolve issues, and implement solutions for high availability.
  • Maintain documentation and processes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in AWS infrastructure design, deployment and system administration.
  • Broad understanding of Microsoft hybrid cloud infrastructures with a good working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure.
  • Highly proficient in at least two of the following technologies:
    • Docker (AWS ECS)
    • Terraform, Ansible, or CDK
    • AWS IaaS (EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway)
    • CloudFlare
    • Windows Server (IIS)
    • Linux
    • Networking (switching, load balancing and firewalls)
  • Experience of working with commercially focused software engineering teams using Agile/DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; effective working independently and within teams.
  • Experience managing complex projects.
  • Exposure to ISO27001 or similar security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle. You will be required to travel to data center locations in the south of England as needed.
