Optiver is building its Digital Assets trading capabilities and is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. This role sits in the Global Cloud Platforms team and will report to the Global Head of Cloud Platforms.

You will help build the foundations for a new trading tenancy on Optiver’s existing cloud platform. With a mature hybrid cloud infrastructure already in place, this role allows you to optimize it for the unique operational and performance needs of digital assets trading. Your focus in this role will be on extending our cloud platform to meet the performance demands of a latency-sensitive, always-on trading environment.

You’ll be accountable for delivering a secure, performant, and robust infrastructure that directly supports trading outcomes - stability, latency, resilience, and safe change in the digital assets space.

What You'll Do

Design low-latency infrastructure using cloud primitives and optimized configurations. Own and enhance cloud infrastructure performance setups. Build and run high-throughput, resilient connectivity patterns for exchange integrations. Drive security hygiene both on and off cloud with secrets management, network segmentation and traffic isolation. Implement governance and best practices for shared cloud platform ensuring safe multi-tenant operation. Deliver infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt, following Optiver standards and workflows. Build and maintain CI/CD and automated testing for changes minimizing risk in always-on markets. Implement and enhance observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and similar tools. Participate in operational ownership through incident response, post-incident improvement, and continuous hardening.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
