Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

This job role can be based near Cheltenham, Manchester, Ipswich or Sheffield. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon-Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the delivery of cloud automation capabilities across infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), self-service platforms, auto-scaling, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist in implementing Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code solutions in accordance with defined architectural standards and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, project stakeholders, and suppliers to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality cloud solutions, whilst providing technical support and guidance to engineers across the wider team.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, capacity, and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues using DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement activities, whilst maintaining platform security, compliance, and operational resilience through adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Participate in the ongoing development and optimisation of cloud platforms and automation tooling.

Desirable Skills / Experience
- Experience working with AWS or other major public cloud platforms and awareness of hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architectures and how services integrate across environments.
- Understanding of cloud-native development practices, common tooling, and DevOps workflows.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Understanding of monitoring, observability, and performance management practices.
- Relevant certifications from cloud providers (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Associate certifications) or networking vendors (e.g., Cisco CCNA).
