About the job
The Managed Cloud Services is looking for a Cloud Platform Administrator to install, configure, maintain, support and service customer SAS cloud systems & environments hosted by SAS or deployed on the customer’s premises.
You will be coming into one of the biggest growth areas in SAS global. You will have the chance to help to shape how we work in region while working for a variety of customers day-to-day.
As a Cloud Platform Administrator, you will:
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a customer-first mindset, continuously seeking ways to improve support and service delivery.
- Administer, maintain, and install SAS Enterprise software and solutions, while managing and troubleshooting mid-tier and container-based applications in cloud environments.
- Provide operational support for global PSD/Partner batch jobs and automations, ensuring reliability and performance across deployments.
- Handle daily tasks through SAS Cloud ticketing systems, following CIS best practices and IT Service Management principles to meet SLA requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive service documentation, including runbooks, knowledge base articles, and internal wiki content.
- Diagnose, document, and resolve system issues, collaborate with external customers, and interface with internal support teams and vendors to ensure seamless service.
- Guide, coordinate and assist departmental staff.
- Participate in establishing departmental objectives.
- Provides quality assurance internal review for other members of the group.
- Provide service leadership for local teams by managing service queues and assigning tickets based on team procedures.
- Provide technical support to international clients with 24/7 shift coverage
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience scripting in more than one language, architecting infrastructure requirements and system designs, and working in a complex computing environment.
- Three years of experience in end user and system administrator consulting or providing other first-level consulting required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
- Knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, hypervisors, Software defined Storage, (SDS), Software defined Networks (SDN), utilities, services and editors for assigned area.
- Senior level of technical knowledge of the internal workings, diagnostic tools and features of complex systems and an aptitude for visualization of solutions for complex problems.
- Ability to script or write software programs that acknowledge the peculiarities of the underlying machine architecture.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well with others and to problem-solve as well as the ability to independently learn how to use new facilities quickly from supplied documentation.
- Understands the interdependencies between multiple systems and software within a computing infrastructure and the understanding of complex system architectures and infrastructures.
- Proof of right to work in UK is required to be considered for the role
- Ability to hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)
