Position Available: Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire (1 day per week in office)
Salary: £50,000 - £62,000 + Benefits

Experience needed: Experience securing AWS cloud environments with strong knowledge of networking, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, and security engineering principles. We're looking for someone with solid AWS and networking fundamentals who enjoys solving security challenges.

About our Team

We're looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team, helping to design, implement and continuously improve the security controls that protect large-scale AWS environments.

Working closely with Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Engineering and Cloud Engineering teams, you'll build and maintain cloud security solutions, improve security automation, and help embed security best practice across the organisation.

This role would suit someone with a strong AWS infrastructure background who enjoys solving security problems and wants to develop their career within Security Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain security controls across AWS cloud environments
  • Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Deploy, configure and optimise cloud security tooling and monitoring solutions
  • Improve cloud security posture through automation, logging, alerting and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with engineering teams to embed security into cloud platforms and application delivery
  • Support incident response, investigations and remediation activities
  • Contribute to security-by-design initiatives across cloud infrastructure

Requirements

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate strong commercial experience across AWS cloud infrastructure together with a solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals.

You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Commercial AWS experience
  • Strong understanding of AWS networking and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Linux and scripting (Python/Bash)
  • Docker, ECS, EKS or Kubernetes
  • Good understanding of cloud security principles, IAM and common web security vulnerabilities

Experience with services such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector or WAF would be advantageous.
