- Engineering teams to design distributed systems
- Establishing CI/CD pipelines
- Setting up containerisation strategies
- Adopting cloud-native approaches while ensuring security and compliance
Job Overview
- Locations: Manchester, Bristol, Reading, and nationwide across the UK
- Type: Contract, full-time
- Day rate:
- £600–800 per day (senior)
- £250–280 per day (entry-level)
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or equivalent required
What You Would Do
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Designing and documenting cloud solution architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments
- Translating business requirements into scalable technical designs using:
- APIs
- Microservices
- Distributed systems patterns
- Establishing and guiding:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Containerisation strategies (using Docker and Kubernetes)
- Infrastructure-as-code approaches (e.g., Terraform)
- Collaborating with development teams to support adoption of:
- Cloud-native technologies
- Frameworks such as:
- .NET
- ASP.NET
- Spring Boot
- Java
- Modern data architectures
- Defining:
- Cloud governance
- Compliance frameworks
- Designing:
- Disaster recovery strategies
- Mentoring:
- Junior architects
- Engineers on:
- Cloud best practices
- System design principles
- Evaluating and recommending:
- Appropriate technology stacks
- Cloud services based on:
- Performance

What You Could Bring
Must-Have
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP at scale
- Deep technical knowledge of:
- Microservices architecture
- Distributed systems
- APIs
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong background in:
- Modern application frameworks: .NET, ASP.NET, Spring Boot (or equivalent)
- Experience with:
- CI/CD tooling
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Cloud automation
- Understanding of:
- Database design
- SQL
- Data pipeline architecture
- Knowledge of:
- Security, compliance, and cloud governance frameworks
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or demonstrated equivalent technical expertise
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification (or equivalent cloud qualification)
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with:
- SAP cloud migration (SAP RISE, S/4HANA, ECC)
- Enterprise data platforms
- Exposure to:
- Python/Bash
- Advanced scripting
- Familiarity with:
- Monitoring, logging, and observability tools, including Power BI
- Experience in:
- Regulated industries
- Compliance frameworks such as:
- CSDR
- QMS
- QARA
- Knowledge of:
- Network architecture (F5, DMZ)
- Linux/Windows administration
