Azure Infrastructure & Platform Engineer (Support)
Security Clearance: Must hold, or be eligible for, UK SC Clearance
We're looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to join a team supporting business-critical cloud environments. This role is ideal for someone with strong Azure infrastructure experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving platform reliability, and working closely with development teams to keep services running smoothly.
You'll be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line support across Azure platforms, ensuring high availability, resolving complex technical issues, and helping drive continuous improvements across cloud operations.
The Role
You'll be involved in:
- Providing 2nd and 3rd line support across Azure infrastructure and cloud platforms
- Managing incidents through to resolution while meeting agreed service levels
- Supporting Azure networking, platform services and integrations
- Monitoring platform performance using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics
- Performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure deployments
- Maintaining Azure security, governance and identity controls
- Working alongside development teams to resolve application and platform issues
- Identifying opportunities for automation, performance improvements and operational efficiencies
- Participating in a paid on-call support rota

What You'll Need
We're looking for someone with around 4-6 years' experience supporting Azure environments and a strong understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies.
Key skills include:
- Azure infrastructure administration and support
- Azure Networking including Virtual Networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway/WAF and Private Endpoints
- Identity and Access Management (RBAC, PIM, Managed Identities, Conditional Access)
- Azure Policy, Key Vault and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Storage Accounts and Azure SQL
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and KQL
- Experience supporting enterprise Azure Landing Zone environments
- Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or ARM Templates
- Good understanding of SQL Server and Azure SQL
- Ability to troubleshoot .NET applications and REST APIs
- Experience working within Agile or ITIL-based support environments
- Exposure to AKS, Azure Container Apps or container technologies would be beneficial.

Desirable
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400 or AZ-700
- Experience working within regulated or secure environments
- Active SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it
