About the Role: Who You Are
We’re looking for an inspiring leader with:
- A real passion for Retail & Fashion—preferably with a track record of driving commercial success.
- Experience managing multiple store locations, influencing teams, and achieving clear KPIs.
- The ability to inspire and bring out the best in others—fostering a productive, inclusive, and innovative environment.
- The confidence to be authentic about your strengths, ideas, and leadership style.

Primary Objective
This is a Mini Area Manager (Cluster Manager) role focussed on 12 store locations in the North Central region:
Beverley • Buxton • Gainsborough Browns • Harrogate • Ilkley • Lincoln • Louth • Manchester • Newark • Lytham • Northallerton
Your core responsibility is to:
- Maximise sales and profitability across your Cluster.
- Adapt shop performance, mentor and lead teams, and hold them accountable for success.
- Work directly with the Regional Manager to improve KPIs, customer experience, brand values, and culture.
- Drive people management and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Inspire and engage your Cluster team, ensuring they are motivated and aligned with our brand values and business objectives.
- Role-model support and collaboration—prioritise fairness, growth, and transparency.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks by developing action plans, driving improvements, and adapting to change.
- Collaborate with Head Office, Retail, Distribution, and Customer Care teams, ensuring cohesion and progress reporting.
- Cascade strategic plans (objectives, challenges, and improvements) to both leads and teams to foster accountability.
Commercial Growth
- Monitor cluster-level commercial performance, making decisions to boost margins and sales against targets.
- Use data and feedback to implement improvements and share insights with Head Office to inform broader retail strategy.
- Oversee payroll and productivity within your Cluster to ensure teams maximise Pay-to-Sales.
- Track and address shop shrinkage and stock loss to ensure business targets are met.
People Management
- Build strong, professional working relationships with Shop Managers, including regular visits and coaching.
- Ensure effective recruitment across your Cluster, reflecting our brand values.
- Drive talent development and recognition, tailored to individual strengths and development needs.
- Support Shop Managers with training programs, under-performance strategies, and feedback.
- Advocate for wellbeing across your Cluster—and collaborate with People Team and Shop Managers to address any concerns.
- Play an active role in resolving performance, conduct, or absence issues.

Shop Operations
- Uphold the customer experience, embodying our brand ideals (Be Friendly, Be Valuable, Be Inspiring) throughout the entire journey.
- Lead a multichannel strategy for your Cluster, optimising endless aisle orders, app sign-ups, and tagging.
- Ensure VM standards, housekeeping, security, Health & Safety, and compliance meet brand expectations.
- Oversee Visual Merchandising, offering strategic feedback on layouts, promotions, windows, and product placements.
- Continuously evaluate and streamline operational processes within your Cluster to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Brand & Values
- Embed and embed our core values within store operations—living them vocally before and behind the scenes.
- Support engagements with our charity partner to deepen customer and team connections.
- Ensure a clear understanding of our ethical sourcing and sustainability efforts to share with customers and colleagues.

Contract Note
This role operates on a 37.5-hour weekly contract, which includes some weekend coverage for responsibilities.
