Position: Cluster Operations Manager Location: Birmingham North Contract: Permanent Compensation: Competitive salary + performance-related bonus, plus extensive benefits

About the Role

As a Cluster Operations Manager for our Unite Students or Hello Student brand, you will take ownership of a group of properties, driving operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and resident satisfaction.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

No two days are the same, but you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading operational and financial performance across a multi-property cluster, ensuring consistency and high standards
  • Ensuring day-to-day financial health, supporting occupancy targets, revenue growth, and cost control to deliver cluster profitability
  • Mentoring and empowering teams to foster a collaborative, high-performing culture
  • Maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence—including health & safety standards
  • Delivering an exceptional resident experience (issue resolution, community building, and inclusivity)
  • Collaborating with maintenance teams to uphold building standards and resolve issues promptly
  • Building partnerships with universities, suppliers, and contractors to drive operational success
  • Acting as a primary escalation point for operational issues and participating in the Duty Manager rota where required
  • Using data insights (feedback, performance metrics) to identify opportunities for growth in efficiency and resident satisfaction
