Cluster Residential Child Care Worker

Pebbles Care has an exciting opportunity for you to collaborate with our established team and become an integral part of our children's lives. Your role may vary each working day across a small cluster of homes, with various shift patterns to support holiday or training cover. Our unique cluster roles allow you to enhance your development and enrich your experience by offering varied work and the opportunity to work across diverse teams.
About the Role
Your responsibilities include:
- Daily home life, such as driving our children to and from school, appointments, and visits (a full UK manual driving license is essential)
- Teaching valuable life skills, including meal preparation and household chores
- Creating lasting memories through engaging activities, outings, and holidays
You will be employed full-time as a dedicated team member, averaging 56.4 hours per week, including sleep hours. Working collaboratively with your team across multiple locations in a cluster of homes within a short journey of each other, you will provide tailored support to the young person’s needs, either one-to-one or two-to-one.
Responsibilities
- Implement a therapeutic approach while managing challenging behaviours
- Support children with everyday life skills and routines (e.g., school drop-off/pick-up, appointments)
- Engage in creative and educational activities, outings, holidays, and special events
- Provide one-to-one or two-to-one care based on individual needs
- Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent and high-quality care

What We Offer You
Salary & Working Conditions
- Starting salary: £35,468.95 to £37,043.94 per annum, pro rata
- Working hours: Average of 56.4 hours per week (including sleepovers)
- Rota system: One day on (24 hours including sleepover) for every two days off
- Annual leave: 5.6 weeks, prorated for part-time roles

Essential Qualities & Requirements
- Flexible approach to shift patterns
- Dedication to safeguarding children and young individuals
- Driving license (UK manual vehicle only)
- Desire for ongoing qualifications and personal growth
- Confidence, resilience and a non-judgmental attitude
- Kind, supportive, and engaging nature
- Patience in developing supportive relationships
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft packages
Desirable Qualities
- Up to 12 months of experience working with children or young adults (higher pay may apply for additional experience)
- Working towards or obtaining SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma relevant to Children and Young People’s Residential workforce (funding may be available)
- Familiarity with Codes of Practice from regulatory bodies
- Existing PVG/DBS certificate
