Overview *** CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector *** Currently seeking two experienced CMM Programmer / Quality Inspectors to support a temporary project on-site at a customer facility in Gloucestershire. The support will involve programming and operating Mitutoyo CMM machines using MCOSMOS software and/or Aberlink CMM machines. Where there are no no existing CMM programmes, candidates will use their experience and be competent in creating programmes from engineering drawings, setting up components and completing dimensional inspection activities independently. The support will include: Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and dimensional inspection requirements. Create, prove out and run CMM programmes using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS or Aberlink software. Set up and inspect components using CMM equipment, including completing manual measurements where required. Complete part and assembly measurement in support of First Article Inspection and production inspection requirements. Accurately record inspection measurements and produce clear inspection results and reports. Use MahrSurf, Contracer or similar profile and contour measurement equipment. Use non-contact measurement systems, shadowgraphs and a range of conventional handheld metrology equipment. Identify and record any non-conformances, detailing the drawing requirement, actual measurement and relevant supporting specifications. Ensure robust inspection practices and techniques are employed efficiently across all customer products. Experience requirements: Proven experience working as a CMM Programmer, CMM Inspector or Dimensional Inspector within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Competent in programming, setting and operating either Mitutoyo CMM equipment using MCOSMOS software or Aberlink CMM equipment. Able to create CMM programmes from scratch, as opposed to solely operating existing programmes. Demonstrate strong knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Competent in using handheld inspection instruments and conventional metrology equipment. Experience using MahrSurf, Contracer or similar profile measurement equipment. Experience completing First Article Inspections and compiling FAIR documentation would be advantageous. Demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Customer and results focused. This role is inside IR35.
