The CNC Laser Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Bridgend, responsible for operating CNC laser cutting machinery to produce precise components for ground support and access equipment. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Setting up laser machines
  • Loading materials
  • Monitoring cutting operations
  • Adjusting parameters to maintain accuracy and efficiency

The role involves:

  • Interpreting technical drawings
  • Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery
  • Collaborating with production and quality teams to meet project schedules
  • Inspecting finished parts
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work area in line with company health and safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Machine Operation skills, including experience with CNC laser equipment and related production machinery.
  • Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including inspection of parts, measurement verification, and adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Candidates should possess Machining and Milling skills, including working with metal components and using appropriate tooling and fixtures.
  • Candidates should possess general Machinery skills, including routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and safe equipment handling.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or engineering environment is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to health and safety standards are essential.
  • Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining, CNC operation, or mechanical engineering is advantageous.
