CNC Machinist
Experienced CNC Machinist (6-Month Contract) – Barrow
PE Global is recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our engineering and manufacturing client based in Barrow. This is an initial 6-month contract, with a competitive hourly rate of £22/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC machines, including Mazak 5-axis lathes using G-code and M-code controls.
- Operate manual lathes and Gate Mill machinery as required.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications.
- Create, optimise, and edit CNC programs to maximise machining efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Perform precision machining of components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Conduct tool selection, tool setting, and offset adjustments to ensure high-quality output.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist/Programmer, ideally within a precision engineering environment.
- Strong experience programming and operating Mazak CNC machines.
- Experience with Integrex 200-III programming (essential).
- Proficiency with Mazatrol Fusion 640 and SolidCAM software (essential).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality precision components.
