# Machinist – Skanska Cementation OU
About the Role

Located in Doncaster, our Cementation OU division is a trusted leader in piling and ground engineering. Specialising in everything from micro-piling to diaphragm wall solutions, we deliver innovative engineering for even the most complex challenges.
We’re now seeking a Machinist to manufacture, repair, or modify components to our high standards while upholding Skanska’s values and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Daily work planning: Progress your tasks from raw materials to final inspection and dispatch—flexibility may include occasional extra working hours where necessary.
- Efficiency & quality focus: Prioritise work to meet hourly targets and customer deadlines. Foster continuous improvement and encourage innovation.
- Compliance & safety: Maintain strict adhesion to health and safety standards and environmental awareness protocols.
- Technical execution: Manufacture, modify, or repair to exact specifications—whether based on technical drawings, samples, or written instructions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth workflows, timelines, and quality standards while promptly escalating any issues.

Requirements
Key Skills & Qualifications
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Turning & Milling.
- CNC programming experience in lathe and milling machines (familiarity with Fanuc or Hurco systems preferred).
- Engineering manufacturing experience, demonstrating practical knowledge of production environments.
- Abrasive wheel license and formal qualifications in manual handling and slinger/signer signalling.
- Strong teamworking skills, including the ability to mentor and encourage effective collaboration across teams.
- Commitment to upholding high quality and efficiency standards.
