Main duties
The Role
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ability across CNC programming, setting, and operating. You will be responsible for producing carbon based insulation components, ensuring first-off quality and repeatability.

- Set, program, and operate CNC turning and/or milling machines (Siemens controls)
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, models, and specifications
- Select tooling, optimise cutting parameters, and adjust offsets for efficiency and accuracy
- Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges, CMMs, and other metrology equipment
- Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs, and improve processes to reduce downtime
- Ensure machine maintenance, tooling care, and adherence to QHSE standards
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum three years’ experience in CNC machining (programming, setting, operating)
- Strong knowledge of Siemens controls
- Skilled in precision measurement
- Capable of interpreting technical drawings
- Time-served apprenticeship
This position is 2 x days 2 nights - Blended salary £ 49,204.17(inclusive of shift allowance)
