CNC Turner / Setter / Operator

Location: Lancashire (Commutable from St. Helens, Wigan, Warrington, Liverpool, Southport, Bolton, Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Preston)


Role Summary

A growing precision engineering specialist is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Turner / Setter to join a modern machining facility. This role involves producing high-precision components from exotic materials for industries where quality and accuracy are critical.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set, programme and operate CNC lathes
  • Read, edit, and optimise FANUC programs
  • Generate programs using One CNC or CAD-CAM
  • Machine complex components from engineering drawings
  • Work with exotic alloys including Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, Duplex, and Super Duplex
  • Use fixed and travelling steadies on parts up to 5 metres long
  • Conduct dimensional inspection using standard measuring equipment
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Time-served CNC Turner (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with FANUC programming
  • Proven ability to machine exotic metals
  • Experience using fixed and travelling steadies
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances from engineering drawings
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
