Join our growing team as a CNC Machinist Programmer Apprentice
You'll receive hands-on training on modern CNC lathes and milling machines, gain recognised qualifications, and work alongside experienced engineers while building a rewarding career in precision engineering.
Wage
- £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

- Monday - Friday, working hours TBC.
- 40 hours a week

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Learn to set up, operate and programme CNC lathes and milling machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Produce high-quality precision components to customer specifications
- Use precision measuring equipment to inspect components and ensure they meet quality standards
- Assist with machine set-ups, tooling changes and routing machine maintenance
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet customer quality standards and delivery deadlines
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work environment
- Complete college coursework and work towards a recognised engineering qualification

Training schedule
- Engineering Operative Level 2. The Engineering Apprenticeship will typically take between 12-18 months to complete. You will attend college for one day a week.
Essential qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English (grade 3 and above)
- Maths (grade 3 and above)
