Position Purpose
The CNC Mill Machinist is a vital member of our manufacturing team, responsible for producing precision components using CNC machine tools. The role demands expertise in operating and setting up various milling machines to manufacture parts of diverse sizes and volumes, utilising jigs and fixtures to ensure accuracy. Beyond core production tasks, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining production efficiency, quality, and safety standards, while collaborating across departments to diagnose problems and enhance ongoing processes.

Responsibilities
Technical Execution
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture components in alignment with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges) to ensure adherence to tolerances.
- Load raw materials and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine programs.
- Optimise machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve standard machining issues; escalate any complex problems to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Conduct basic machine maintenance, including ensuring cleanliness and proper lubrication for maximum reliability.
- Accurately interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineers, quality inspectors, and team members to resolve production challenges.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and quality regulations within the workshop environment.
Requirements
- Experience operating multi-axis CNC machines (mandatory).
- Proficiency in manual machining, including (but not limited to) lathes, press brakes, and surface grinding.
- Familiarity with CNC programming (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain control systems).
- Background in either aerospace, automotive, or another high-precision industry preferred.
- Availability to work a rotating shift schedule (including mornings and evenings).
