CNC Operator/ Setter
Location: Bilston, Wolverhampton, West Midlands
Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, alternating shifts
Earlies: 06:00 – 14:00 Monday-Thursday, 06:00 – 11:00 Fridays
Afternoons: 14:00 – 22:00 Monday-Thursday, 11:00 – 16:00 Fridays
Position Overview
We are seeking multiple skilled and experienced CNC Operators and Setters to join our precision engineering team at Parker Precision. The roles are responsible for ensuring efficient workflow through the CNC department, supporting production requirements, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and performance. The successful candidates will be involved in setting, operating, and maintaining CNC machines while working collaboratively with the CNC Team Leader and Senior Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with the CNC Team Leader and management to understand and execute production plans and scheduling requirements.
- Undertake CNC machining tasks as delegated by the CNC Team Leader and/or Senior Management.
- Set up, load, and operate CNC machines efficiently and safely.
- Maintain high performance standards within the CNC team to meet production targets.
- Support training and development activities as directed by the CNC Team Leader or Senior Management.
- Assist with implementing lean manufacturing practices and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including Kaizen, tooling improvements, and process efficiencies.
- Identify, discuss, and resolve production or operational issues, escalating where required.
- Monitor and maintain health and safety standards within the CNC department.
- Support the CNC Team Leader and deputise in their absence when required for decision-making.
- Maintain clear and consistent daily communication with management to ensure production plan compliance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and the Parker Precision/Brookhouse Code of Conduct.
- Promote and uphold company standards of behaviour, safety, and operational excellence.

Essential Skills & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in CNC Machining (or equivalent).
- Time-served machinist with proven ability to set, load, and operate CNC machines.
- Strong working knowledge of CNC machinery, processes, and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of making decisions using initiative and sound judgement.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
- Experience working with Star, Mazak, Doosan or Hardinge CNC machines within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with modern CNC tooling technologies and process optimisation techniques.
