Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Setter/Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate setup and operation of CNC machines, ensuring high-quality components are produced efficiently and delivered on time.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise who is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Successful Candidate Will Primarily Be Responsible For

Machine Setup & Operation

Set up and configure CNC machines in line with technical drawings and job specifications Select and installappropriate toolingandworkholding Load raw materials and ensure correct positioning and alignment Load and verify NC programs, coordinates, and tool geometries Optimise machine settings for performance and precision Conduct simulation checks, dry runs, and in-process inspections Modify or produceworkholdingasrequired Maintainhigh standardsof housekeeping and safety

Quality Assurance & Process Control

Inspect finished components to ensure compliance with specifications and GD&T Identifyand report programming issues for correction Record inspection data and production information accurately Monitor processes and proactively address wear or dimensional variation Support improvements to meet production deadlines and minimise delays

Tooling, Workholding & Materials

Select, assemble, andmaintaincutting tools and fixtures Ensure materials and parts are handled correctly with full traceability

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

Diagnose and resolve machining issues such as tool breakage, poor finish, or machine alarms Perform routine machine maintenance and upkeep Apply 6S and TPM practices tomaintainan organised workspace Ensure maintenance schedules are followed

Safety & Compliance

Adhere to all PPE and safety requirements Follow company health & safety policies and relevant legislation Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives

Teamwork & Communication

Support and mentor trainees or apprentices Work collaboratively with engineering, programming, quality, and maintenance teams

Your profile

Knowledge & Skills Required

Proven experience as a CNC Setter or similar role Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Team player withgood communicationskills
