Role Description

LATE SHIFT - This is a full-time, on-site CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role based in Keighley. The position involves programming CNC lathes, setting up machines, and operating turning equipment to produce precision components for hygienic and pharmaceutical applications.

  • Interpreting technical drawings
  • Selecting tooling
  • Creating and adjusting CNC programs
  • Monitoring machining processes to ensure quality and adherence to specifications

The role also includes:

  • Performing basic maintenance checks
  • Inspecting finished parts with appropriate measuring equipment
  • Collaborating with production and quality teams to meet delivery schedules and continuous improvement goals

Safe work practices, accurate documentation, and proactive communication about issues or opportunities for process enhancement are integral to the role.

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Strong CNC Programming skills for turning operations, including program creation, modification, and optimization.
  • Hands-on Machining experience, particularly with CNC turning, and familiarity with Milling processes as beneficial.
  • Practical Programming skills related to machine controls and production workflows.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC lathes in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, verniers, gauges) and quality inspection procedures.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering; prior experience in hygienic or pharmaceutical component manufacturing is an advantage.
